Two tips teenagers should follow when shopping for gift hampers for their mums

If you're a teenager and are currently searching for a gift hamper for your mother, you might be interested in these tips.

Make sure it includes items you know your mum likes but rarely gets to indulge in

When perusing the shops in search of gift hampers for her, you should see if you can find hampers that have items you know your mum likes and that make her feel pampered but which she rarely gets to indulge in. For example, if you know she finds a long soak in the bath very relaxing, but she hardly ever finds the time to do this, you could get a bath-themed gift hamper for her that comes with an exfoliating loofah, some bath salts, artisanal soap and scented candles.

The reason for this is that, like most mums, yours is probably too preoccupied with caring for you and the other family members to find the time to indulge in the things that she enjoys. Putting items in the hamper that will encourage her to take some time for herself and do an activity that is solely for her own benefit is likely to be something that she'll really appreciate. If you do this, you should also ensure that you give her time to use it. For example, if you get a bath-themed hamper, you and your other family members might want to agree to give your mum an hour or two to stay in the bathroom, without any of you knocking on the door and asking questions or bothering her.

Don't assume you have to buy a hamper that is very expensive

As a teenager, you might not have a lot of money to spend on this hamper for your mum. However, the good news is that you don't have to buy a hamper for her that costs a fortune (and in fact, your mother might even object if you spend too much). For example, if she loves and regularly wears a costly perfume, but the hamper that has this full-sized perfume is too pricey, you could look for a different hamper that has, for example, a travel-sized version of this perfume in it, which would be much cheaper.

Likewise, if she enjoys fancy chocolates and teas, you could order a small-sized hamper that contains a small sample of some high-end loose tea and a little box of chocolates, which will not cost the earth but which will show your mum that you put thought into buying this hamper for her.
